1st Section Top position at Fife Contest New

Newmilns and Galston picked up first place on Saturday 21st April 2012 at Carnegie Hall, Dumfermline. The band, conducted by Alan Cameron, entertained the audience and adjudicator John Boax, with "Dance of the Tumblers" arranged by Derek Ashmore, Euphonium solo "Rev. Archie Beaton" by John Mason, "Sleep" by Eric Whitace and finished the programme with Leonard Bernstein's "Candide Overture".

Euphonium soloist Scott Kerr also picked up the prize for best instrumentalist after a fantastic performance of "Rev. Archie Beaton".

Scottish Championship 2012 Results

Newmilns and Galston put in a fantastic performance of Bertrand Moren's "Mountain Views", drawing number 10 of 10 the band were last to play in the 1st Section contest. Gaining 4th place under the direction of Nigel Boddice M.B.E. at Glenrothes concert Hall.

Wright Returns

The band are are very pleased to announce that Micheal Wright has returned on Eb Bass just in time for the Scottish Championships. Micheal is a very talented bass player with over 20 years of experience.

Scottish Championships 2012

The band are delighted to announce that Nigel Boddice M.B.E. will be the Musical Director for the fastly approaching Scottish Championships on Sunday 11th March in Glenrothes. Nigel is a well known musician in the brass band world, with an impressive career and contest background. More Info

 

The band has been conducted by Nigel many times in the past, with hard work and some of Nigel's magic we hope to deliver a top performance of Betrand Moren's test piece "Mountain Views".

Double Signing

We are very pleased to welcome Emma on Cornet and Fiona on Euphonium. Both players will be adding great quality and experience to their sections.

As Alan has been doing the hard work as temporarily resident conductor he will be joining the percussion section for the Scottish Championships.
